///BODY MYTHS///

Unrealistic beauty standards and social constructs are created for capitalistic gain. The more we strive to conform to these "ideals," the more distant we become from knowing and loving our true selves. Just browse current social media for a few seconds, and you will see that everyone is starting to look the same as they strive for the same superficial image we've all been fed, subconsciously and consciously, to deem as ideal.

I too struggle with this daily -- thoughts that I am not enough, I am not attractive, I'm too skinny, I have no curves, I wish I was more womanly, should I get fake tits, how can I get a bigger butt, could my lips be more plump, should I learn to do makeup, should I curl and lighten my hair, I wish my body looked like hers in that dress, I wish I had her body, it goes on and on. But what I really wish, what I really fucking wish, is that I could learn to love myself as I am, as I was born, as I will always be. I may not look like that Instagram model that can twerk on your dick while holding a Fit Tea, but I am me, and I am unique, and I shouldn't strive to look like someone else.

The only people benefiting from this mass cloning society has so skillfully and successfully injected into us are the fashion industries, the beauty industries, the music industries, plastic surgeons, media outlets, basically everyone except ourselves. By eating these far-fetched ideals up, we give in to self-hatred, irrational insecurities, and a neverending longing to be something we aren't and will never be which is something other than ourselves. Love yourself. You are born perfect. Embrace your uniqueness; there is no one else in the world like you.
