///AQUAMARINE///

Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific was not nearly as impressive as aquariums I frequented in my younger years, but it was a pseudo-pleasant Sunday nonetheless. All I really care about in marine and freshwater life doesn't exist in your everyday aquarium: Physalia Physalis, Himantura ChaoprayaMesonychoteuthis Hamiltoni and creatures of sub-photic zones that are bioluminous and/or suffer from gigantism. In hindsight, I probably should've ran away from rehab for a day in search of my own 1300lb giant stingray in the Mekong River. I really did want to (thanks to Jeremy Wade of River Monsters). Being dragged for hours by an oversized grey pancake of a fish only to end up either being whipped and stabbed by its serrated tail or losing it completely would've been worth the punishment.
