found my last free issue of [SOMA] in the mail the other day.
quite sad, yes. i do often wonder if they'll grant me another free subscription.. ?
watched [21] last week.
dude looks good in a suit and chica's mega cute. but then again, any guy looks hott shitt in a suit. i'd be good at counting, i reckon.. i fucking love math. but then again, my memory's pretty shabby.
mobilio, genius of a writer, eugene lang [my dream school after stanford and before music school], also a fan of oulipo [writing + mathematics = the perfect equation to please tania].
my new idol after the recentfound de mesquita of game theory.
so i went into borders at 3rd street promenade yesterday [which, in the end, turned out to be barnes&noble haha].. went to the art section and was immediately stopped in my tracks by three books. placed exactly adjacent to one another - letters of mayhem, riceboy sleeping, double game.
beautifully creative in vintage-look or fragile ways, the feel was very personal. words, if present, touching or ingeniously enumerated. diaries, blank or the polar opposite. all owning minute details that could easily be missed, but an absolute delight when spotted. i could only afford one - double game. i might like to write something similar of myself one day. the first book shall be mine soon and the second i shall buy for another.
from books to movies - i can't really wait till [smart people] comes out this season..
so i think i'll just find the pirated version or download it. jesting, of course. i'm sick of spending $20 [movie + snacks] watching average movies.. ellen page is sure to save the day. i can't get over her. i think if i met her in real life, i just might hit on her sarcastic-ass. anyway, the film should be out really soon, watch it.
the genius which is [senuti] - i was just introduced. thanks, helena.
my ipod from c2002 or something is finally dying. it hasn't been able to scroll for two months now. really fucking annoying. the songs on my ipod aren't all on my itunes so senuti [itunes backwards! thanks again, helena] helped me solve that crap. and i bought a new ipod two days ago. so that solves the dilemma even more.
i wouldn't mind working for [studio O+a]. mathematics + interior design whizzes. they "construct atmosphere and ambience where there was once nothing." funfunfun. but i think for a first job, i'm doomed for entry-level retail. THE SALES ASSOCIATE. i visited the new [calvin klein] store in the beverly center the other day.. fucking greatgreatgreat. looks like an ocd person had a field day in that place and, as a result, i am fucking in love with it. very linear and organized, and everything's spaced so perfectly. spacious and minimal. and, of course, they have a cute selection of wardrobe basics/staples with rather lush fabrics.
and, the in2u scent didn't do any harm either.
more exhibits i would like to go see are [kara walker] at the hammer museum [whose work strangely reminds me of karen walker's little hobo girl silhouette symbol.. perhaps 'tis karen walker, and kara is her artist name.. ok, not really].
also, there is [california video] at the getty.
if this weekend is both sunny and warm, i might actually make it to these.. ech.
to take a break from the comedy and horror which is regular news, why not try [nat geo] for a change? a flat-faced fish that crawls rather than swims was discovered in indonesia a couple months back.
its face reminds me much of the [rogue status] symbol haha.
i'd much rather see images of newly discovered animals from deep seas than bombings and bush fires, personally.
spring allergy sufferers, holler. in the battle between loratadine and cetirizine, i say they both fucking LOSE.
none of them are working for me, so i've resorted to taking a daily dose of ecstasy to rid of my allergies completely yet temporarily.
i'm kidding, kids.
anywayyy. in fashion news [only pertaining to, well.. myself],
i want to own and wear this [ungaro] outfit. holyshite!
and in music news [only pertaining to mememe as well], i was reading this article that mentioned miles davis being shy and facing his back to the crowd during performances..
if this is true, i totally have a chance in this world.
YES!!!
foreign obsessions of the moment: l'amant + les amants, glücklicher zufall, and творческая интеллигенция.
i'm so obsessed with words. whenever i think of a new tattoo idea, it's always just random words. someone's name [not in a heart], an artwork's name, some lyrics, some great translation, [not bible quotes], [and not 'mom' or 'dad'] et cetera et cetera. fuck it, i should just go all out and ink a whole fucking novel on myself.
to semi-end with a bang [haha how gay am i] - did you know that russia tested the father of all bombs on 9/11 of last year.
said to be the biggest non-nuclear weapon in the world, four times more powerful than the americans' mother of all bombs. it's smaller yet more effective.
but the most important thing right now is.. thinking of one blues piece and one post-1945 jazz piece for my audition.. hmm. fuck.

fuck i really want to go to [this]. but, knowing me, i'll probably procrastinate for much too long and miss it like i did the dalí and murakami exhibits. i also want to venture around the many spanish missions sprinkled across this very state like i did when i was in third grade.
by far my favorite history module ever! it was so much fun. and i'm such a fan of native american stores here.. even though all the necklaces and mocassins i buy from them are totally UNauthentic.
also, tonight, there is [this]. god, i keep forgetting about [this blog], but i guess it makes sense.. seeing as i don't go out at all in LA anymore.
woe is fucking me. i'm paranoid as fuck at the moment.

///oh, spring///
today the pollen forecast [yes, pollen forecast haha] is said to be very high in my area. oh joy! i hate spring because i hate allergies. irritated nose, throat, eyes.. what more can i ask for from a season???
an ugly photo. anyway.. at least it's not extremely cold anymore. and yes, i understand that it gets colder in russia. but i'm weak. and i live in los angeles.. which makes me even weaker. asia makes me stronger.
[hahaha whattheFUCK am i talking about..]
hussein chalayan's fall '08 r-t-w collection stood out from others. his models SMILED on the runway. it's scarier than them not smiling. but i think the shock value will work to his benefit. now i know why they tell models not to smile.. it totally distracts from the clothing!!! sinister sinister smiles.. just look at them:
i'd have liked to see that show. it ended with the big bang projecting out of these two beauties that could be mistaken for aliens [or, simply, the robots from bjork's 'all is full of love' video]:
look what style.com wrote about his show [which i am thinking of secretly stealing]:
...an abstract story about the evolution of humanity, which was accompanied by an a cappella group who struck up an extraordinary vocal timpani simulating prelife space sounds, jungle noises, and folkloric and religious chants.
that's exactly the type of descriptive shitt i like to read.. a crescendo of words leading to a useless anticlimax!
the exact type of music i enjoy listening to at the moment is:
F R E N C H P O P.
leave me alone. i know i can't sing along to it because i can't speak french, but the tunes are stuck in my head at least!!! and yes, she DOES have 'les fil' written on her FACE. [pointed out to me by nathan aka neh.]
my eyelids are heavy as fuck and my eyes are utterly exhausted. i've not yet slept and it's seven in the freakin' morning. i don't know why i'm acting surprised when this has been happening for the past month or so. maybe i'm more upset than surprised because I HAVE AN INTERNSHIP INTERVIEW IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS AND I'VE NO TIME TO SLEEP BEFORE THAT. i've got to find something "trendy" to wear and leave time for the trafficky drive to sunset boulevard.
whothehell spells boulevard out in full? whothehell writes whothehell as one word? whothehell writes whatthefuck out in full AND as one word???

i just now opened the ma fleur cinematic orchestra album i bought several months ago. i have lots of unopened music and film around my place.. i don't know, most likely a result of impulse shopping. which is why i don't do that shitt anymore. anywayyy.. the cd comes with a set of photographs. a note inside reads:
the photographs you find here have been chosen to accompany each of the songs contained on ma fleur. inspired by but not tied specifically to any of them, these largely unpeopled studies in light are meant as an aid to the listener in reconstructing or creating the narrative contained at the heart of this suite of music.
what a cute little idea.
another beautiful narrative album worth listening to is max richter's the blue notebooks. i am so so in love with it. you don't need photographs to guide you with this one, the movie unwinds in your head all on its own. i've yet to buy it, though.. i'm trying to save damnit!
i don't know wine and food combinations but i know music and altered states combos. both ma fleur and the blue notebooks are good for k trips or sleeping.

i began to feel my misery in pallet on floor, listening
to music, my misery, that's why i want to sing.
i can't believe he wrote that. he reminded me again why i like him so goddamn much. too bad he's gay. and probably about thrice my senior, maybe more.
i'm teaching myself basic music theory again.
i wish these things were never easily forgotten.. foreign languages, mathematics, music theory. what a waste of years spent learning it all! i could've been an official translator for the CIA, the next bruce bueno de mesquita, or frikkin' hollie smith!
..or not. which is the case thus far. and which i am planning to change. it's never too late! god it feels lame saying that stupid phrase at the old old age of twenty-one. well, good thing i still look like a fourteen-year-old!
anyway, i'm teaching myself everything again because i need to. and the fact that.. I MISS SCHOOL!!! i have a nice clean jordi labanda notebook that i never got around to using. haysoos.
i have come to firmly believe that singapore is the cure to all my problems. and after that, i promise i will stop running. i'll run the whole mile there and actually see to it that i make it to the finish line.
analogies are so hilarious. wtf.

///bbc///
so i've decided i'm going to start browsing news pages. specifically for entertainment purposes, nothing profound. that's pretty much near impossible to find in this published shitt anyway..
-moko, the dolphin, saved a couple of beached whales on the east coast of new zealand's north island after the humans had failed to do so. the humans gave the excuse that they couldn't speak dolphin or whale.
-the leader of the arellano felix cartel in tijuana was finally caught after six years of being pursued. they were focused on smuggling colombian cocaine from mexico to california for all the hipsters to eat up.
-france is apparently experiencing its worst housing crisis since WWII, especially paris. high rentals are minimized or rid of completely with sexual favors. the ads say, "sex twice a month" or "open in spirit and elsewhere" or "flat in exchange for libertine services" known as contre services.
k.. never doing that again.

continuing with my fucking artsy hotel obsession..
there's this pretty cool hotel in san francisco i just discovered..
[hotel of des arts]. each room is painted by a different artist. it's just the walls that're cool, though.. no real special facilities or features. anyway, here:
and, of course, there's [chateau marmont], [beverly wilshire], [the ivy], [mondrian], etc. etc.
also. i want to go [here]:
i would do anythinggg to go there. i'm in love..
i fucking love these bags - leather lanvin noanne frame shopper in marine blue:
leather miu miu nappa antik snap top in camello:
but i can't afford any of those.
i also like the new [i think?] collection from [3.1 philip lim].. the one that looks like unfinished or greige goods. fucking great.
so i'm browsing the [barneys] site, right.. and i see these combat boots that i have. exactly the same [all combat boots are clones, duh]. ann demeulemeesters for $1085. i got mine a few months back at [wasteland] - one of my favorite stores - for only $15!!! lovely.

lovely lovely seth in australia posted a bulletin a little while ago:
Dear Diary:
Heather told me she teaches people "real life". She said, real life sucks losers dry. You want to fuck with the eagles, you have to learn to fly. I said, so, you teach people how to spread their wings and fly? She said, yes. I said, you're beautiful.

ok. so i watched a bit of news earlier. which, by the way, is a really rare occurence seeing as my apartment is completely devoid of a television; i wouldn't watch the news on the internet; if i had a television, i would watch cooking shows/discovery/nat geo/ftv not the news.
seven more sins were added to the existing ten by the vatican:
-environmental pollution
-genetic manipulation
-accumulating excessive wealth
-inflicting poverty
-drug trafficking and consumption
-morally debatable experiments
-violation of fundamental rights of human nature
and, apparently, there are a fuckload of pharmaceuticals in our drinking water, including:
-antibiotics
-anti-convulsants
-mood stabilizers
-sex hormones
oh, world.. how entertaining your "daily news" is. i think it's best if we just lock ourselves up in empty rooms and starve. that way, we won't consume drugs via our drinking water and become sinnners.
