///familiar ground///

i just now opened the ma fleur cinematic orchestra album i bought several months ago. i have lots of unopened music and film around my place.. i don't know, most likely a result of impulse shopping. which is why i don't do that shitt anymore. anywayyy.. the cd comes with a set of photographs. a note inside reads:

the photographs you find here have been chosen to accompany each of the songs contained on ma fleur. inspired by but not tied specifically to any of them, these largely unpeopled studies in light are meant as an aid to the listener in reconstructing or creating the narrative contained at the heart of this suite of music.

what a cute little idea.

another beautiful narrative album worth listening to is max richter's the blue notebooks. i am so so in love with it. you don't need photographs to guide you with this one, the movie unwinds in your head all on its own. i've yet to buy it, though.. i'm trying to save damnit!

i don't know wine and food combinations but i know music and altered states combos. both ma fleur and the blue notebooks are good for k trips or sleeping.
