///PROUST, MARCEL///
For those that I wasn't able to tag on Facebook..
1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I dont' believe that any particular thing, person, or idea has/is/could made/making/make me "perfectly happy." There is always a tinge of woe.
2. What is your greatest fear?
Losing loved ones as well as being fully aware of the fading of amorous feelings. And being forgotten.
3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Addiction which leads to often being visited by my good friend Depression. Also, I hate that I can only write well when I am in the mood to write.
4. What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Racism. Flakiness. Infidelity. Lying. Closed-mindedness. Fakeness. Lack of culture.
5. Which living person do you most admire?
Any person that I bother dedicating spending time with has within them something I deeply admire.
6. What is your greatest extravagance?
Living in Los Angeles - living rent, parking, car, fix car, gas, fine dining, fine drinking, shopping, phonebills [my unfortunate tendency to drunk dial ONLY abroad]. Other than that, traveling. I spend a lottt on airfares. "Best thing about LA? Leaving it."
7. What is your current state of mind?
Almost blue, almost me, almost you.
8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Moderation. I know it's better for you in the long run but I've always been much more fond of extremes.
9. On what occasion do you lie?
I don't lie. I've even told my parents that I'm a Valium addict and that shrooms are the best thing ever to come of mother nature.
10. What do you most dislike about your appearance?
Sometimes when I wake up and look in the mirror, I'm not all that impressed with my face.
11. Which living person do you most despise?
I don't have enemies. But, all others aside, I often do things that make me abhor myself.
12. What is the quality you most like in a man?
- Creativity - arts, music, fashion.
- Inimitability.
- Intellect.
- Humor.
13. What is the quality you most like in a woman?
I have the tendency to be attracted to females very much like myself [equally weird, somewhat of the same fashion sense, tomboyish, troubled, crazy]. Hence the reason 90% of my friends are males.
14. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I'll be fine. What? Eep eep. I miss you. I love you.
15. What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My brother Ethan.
16. When and where were you happiest?
With [him/her/them] in [that place] on [that drug] laughing/talking about/doing [those things].
17. Which talent would you most like to have?
The ability to write well whenever I am required to. It would also be nice to rid of this social anxiety.
18. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
A possibly typical answer but.. Nothing. I'd like to think I love myself enough [both the good and bad things included] not to hate anything enough to want to change it.
19. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
It has yet to be achieved.
20. If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
Maurits Cornelis Escher.
21. Where would you most like to live?
Everywhere at some point.
22. What is your most treasured possession?
The empathy of my family and closest friends.
23. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
When you've run out and there's no easy way out, so you get out of there and put yourself out of your misery.
24. What is your favorite occupation?
Writer. Stylist. Art/creative director. Game theorist.
25. What is your most marked characteristic?
I'm Tania.
26. What do you most value in your friends?
They're cultured.
27. Who are your favorite writers?
Kipling, Ginsberg, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Kafka, Kerouac, Rhys, Tzara, Wilde, Miller, Burroughs, Bukowski, Nin, Stein, Silverstein, Dahl, Seuss, Dylan.
28. Who is your hero of fiction?
The old man in The Old Man and the Sea.
29. Which historical figure do you most identify with?
History was never my favorite class in school. But I can say this, Albert Einstein and I share the same birthday and we both adore mathematics.
30. Who are your heroes in real life?
My dad. No explanation needed.
31. What are your favorite names?
Alaia. Izabela. Lux. Harmony. Escher.
32. What is it that you most dislike?
[see 4.] then add: Sure having friends and family scattered about the globe is great and dandy but it also really really sucks because missing people is one of the things I hate to feel most.
33. What is your greatest regret?
Diazepam 10mg but at the same time I couldn't get a lot of the things I get done without it.
34. How would you like to die?
A la Aldous Huxley, on my deathbed asking for and being given mad hallucinogens.
35. What is your motto?
I'll be fine.

I still long for a Manila trip this month as well as a side trip to Shanghai to attend Notch09. All those weirdy European countries' creatives are exhibiting their incredible talents in Asia! Vibskov and CTRL to name a couple! Lalaloveee. Both visual and aural treats. Food too?! Unfortunately I've much too much to deal with here in LA and I don't think I can afford to leave [time-wise, resposibility-wise, money-wise]. But who knows.. Maybe shit will turn around and a miracle will happen and you all will see me at Notch09............................. <3

Let's help flood victims in the Philippines! Katrina had 380mm of rainfall while the typhoon that hit Metro Manila Saturday had 410mm of rainfall [its biggest rainfall in HISTORY]. Remember that the Philippines is a THIRD WORLD country with very LIMITED RESOURCES. A single dollar can help save lives. Please help spread the word to raise awareness and funds. So many are missing and still need rescue.
Fox News has just reported (09/28/09) that the death toll has risen to 140 and that number is expected to increase dramatically within the next couple of days. Rescue missions are still ongoing. Another storm is set to hit Friday.
Thousands have lost their homes and are in dire need of relief. Thousands are starving.

///DYLAN, BOB///
Just a few months ago, Benjamin Ruby was complaining about how everyone kept saying he looked like Bob Dylan. Just a few weeks ago, Nathan House showed me Bob Dylan's first book that he had found in a vintage bookstore. Just last week, Mr. Hope was talking to us about Bob Dylan in our American Political & Economical History class.
Just a few more months, Los Angeles will be able to see Bob Dylan live at the Hollywood Palladium this October. Tickets are pre-selling now for $56.50. Or on regular sale for the same price starting 10:00AM August 14th.

///SPRING F-O-R COFFEE///
Today at the wee little coffee shop [mind you, with hugely positive reviews] down the street, Gerardo offered me a free newspaper that had been deserted on one of the few tables outside. He said it's good to read the newspaper sometimes. I agreed with an exhaling sigh that formed swirling cigarette clouds. As he emptied the trash and got ready to leave work, I skimmed a few headlines and read one article in full.
- Teen apparel: the worst performing sector this month. July sales: Ross went up and Abercrombie went down down downnn. I never liked the smell of that place anyway.
- Fresno recalls 800,000 pounds of beef linking it to salmonella. Thank goodness I've recently become somewhat vegetarian.
- The recession will teach not only adults and teens about that horrid thing called money, but kiddies as well.
- Yesterday, the vast thing some refer to as the Twitterverse was paralyzed. I personally didn't notice as I fell into a deep sleep right when I got home from class. There are several speculations.. Some say it was just some kids fucking around, some say it was hired hackers with political motives. First there was cyber sex, now there's cyber war. "They would be like hit men, but with digital packets instead of bullets." Something capable of bringing down such a huge thing as Twitter is a very very capable entity. And here I am, thinking about getting another computer [AKA yet another personal data storage space for some fucker to invade].
I stubbed out my second cigarette as I finished reading that one succinct but somehow effective piece. Cuss words took over my head. A few moments passed and he came back out asking if I was sitting there thinking aloud. I was. Albeit silently.

///LET'S GET LOST///
A black and white film from 1989 by [BRUCE WEBER] about Chet Baker. I admit I don't know much of his music, not much at all. But merely watching the trailer got to me.. And I must know more. [NOTE: watch the official trailer on Weber's website]
And out of the darkness
he saw a man sitting alone
in the backseat of his car.
And the light from the cigarette showed off his cheekbones.
And he'd known that must've been Chet Baker.
...
I got him at the best time in his life.
He was just a kid.
He was twenty-two,
just out of the army.
He hadnt had junk yet.
It's always the drugs isn't it. It shouldn't be.
Well, we've come to that time of the evening
When there's not much time left.
and we'd appreciate it if..
If you could kind of..
Be quiet.
Cos it's that kind of tune.
Almost blue../
Almost doing things we used to do../
Someone please search out a Region 1 DVD copy of this film for me. I will adore you endlessly..

From the city outskirts to wearing skirts in the city. Though I miss [THE VISCONTI] and all the memories it held for a handful of us, I'm pretty fucking stoked about this new place. New loft, new area, everything necessary/worthy is walking/skating distance [school, bars, cafes, restaurants, stores, markets, factories, gallery row [ball-nogues ahhh!], skid row]. And all the people around here are extra friendly. It's hot as fuck and I still don't have curtains or the extra closet space I need yet.. But besides all that, everything is as expected: dopeasfuck. I dreamt of living in a loft since I was fourteen. But I always dreamt it'd be one in New York. But now that I think about it, I don't think New York is me as much as LA is. Finally finally finally, I'm beginning to love LA again. [Nike] SB Spring [2010 Preview] !
From my old room painted by [KOFIE] at the start and painted over by Mikko at the end [as were The Visconti rules]. To my new room with brick and tile and concrete and exposed piping and blank walls aplenty - welcoming all artists ;p
