From the city outskirts to wearing skirts in the city. Though I miss [THE VISCONTI] and all the memories it held for a handful of us, I'm pretty fucking stoked about this new place. New loft, new area, everything necessary/worthy is walking/skating distance [school, bars, cafes, restaurants, stores, markets, factories, gallery row [ball-nogues ahhh!], skid row]. And all the people around here are extra friendly. It's hot as fuck and I still don't have curtains or the extra closet space I need yet.. But besides all that, everything is as expected: dopeasfuck. I dreamt of living in a loft since I was fourteen. But I always dreamt it'd be one in New York. But now that I think about it, I don't think New York is me as much as LA is. Finally finally finally, I'm beginning to love LA again. [Nike] SB Spring [2010 Preview] !

I hope nothing else worthy of attending falls on Saturday August 8th 2009. The Dodos will be performing at The Getty for the [SATURDAYS OFF THE 405] series. I first heard their music Christmas of 2008 which our family spent in our Auckland, New Zealand house. My brother introduced me via their Visiter album. We listened to it every morning when we woke for a matter of weeks. Made me happy as far as I can remember.

You are more than welcome to buy and send me a used copy of the cd [HERE] for like $8. Because yes, I do indeed still very much enjoy owning actual physical cds that I can actually hold, that have cute little booklet inserts with positively questionable art and authentic-always-correct lyrics.

Yeh, I can't afford to spend anything at all right now as I need to buy some more furniture as well as art supplies, my car is currently getting a bunch of things fixed which is going to cost a pretty penny, I have to pay for the rental that I've been using this whole time, aaand I just got my first DUI [yes I know I know, to shame to shame] which means I need a really good lawyer.

Words cannot explain what we experienced last night at [BALL-NOGUES] opening for their Feathered Edge installation. Delicate drapery from some standpoints, straight edged from others. It's up till November so I highly recommend all of you go see it for yourselves and do make sure to walk through the middle. And perhaps even lay on the ground and peer up to the ceiling. Each strand is a numbered file. The intricacy astounds. Mathematics + art = my loveee. One of my best friends Joem is one of the few interns for Ball-Nogues, and he had the privilege of working on this with the "fine art-chitecture" geniuses Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues. I wish I could feel what he felt once the piece was fully completed and installed then finally presented to the public. Watching and evesdropping the many reactions. I know my mouth was just open the whole time in absolute amazement and I could not stop smiling in excitement. Joem ILOVEYOU! Oh yeh, it's showing at MOCA at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Gogogo!

///TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE///

yeh. we didn't see it, asia did. one of the longest at six minutes thirty-nine seconds in some places. i wish we could've seen it, i would've driven out to an empty parking lot and stared at it through my car window alone. ..as i did last year or the year before when that red one was seen from LA. that was peaceful.. i conversed with my dad via text message while doing so. eclipses are a pretty nostalgic symbol for me. they always seem to make me think of my dad. well, the moon in general i think. yeh, this just occurred to me. whenever i'd throw a massive crying tantrum when i was a toddler, my dad was the only one that could calm me. he'd take me out to the back porch, it'd always be nighttime for some reason.. i'd be on his lap and we'd look at the moon and the stars till my hiccup-sounding crying would gradually slow to silence. a silent smile, then goodnight.

I've been thinking about a family tattoo for ages now.. I would say too long, but things such as this require quite a bit more thought than the teen tragedy LBT I have.

META = Marlene Ethan Tania Anthony = My Family.

Linking back to that first quote:
-My family is who will still be there for me after all my fuck-ups.
-I love them beyond words, beyond the love I hold for any other entity.

I mean, technically TEAM, MEAT, MATE, and TAME are also possible anagrams but somehow META just seems to me to be the best of the five choices.

As for WHERE I shall be inking this on my body.. I'm not quite sure yet. I might be completely unoriginal and do my knuckles. But what if knuckle tattoos become as notorious as LBTs??? Ha, I doubt that.


EDIT: Left hand knuckles: M E T A - what built me up. Right hand knuckles: X X I I - what broke me down. And if I ever married, the ring would fall on the T [for Tania] which would make sense as it would join whoever with me [Tania]. ! Wow. How deep. And, also, I wouldn't get the same typical font as every other person with knuckle tatts.. I'd get 'em really thin, ring-size, so they could be easily covered whenever I wished.
