yeh. we didn't see it, asia did. one of the longest at six minutes thirty-nine seconds in some places. i wish we could've seen it, i would've driven out to an empty parking lot and stared at it through my car window alone. ..as i did last year or the year before when that red one was seen from LA. that was peaceful.. i conversed with my dad via text message while doing so. eclipses are a pretty nostalgic symbol for me. they always seem to make me think of my dad. well, the moon in general i think. yeh, this just occurred to me. whenever i'd throw a massive crying tantrum when i was a toddler, my dad was the only one that could calm me. he'd take me out to the back porch, it'd always be nighttime for some reason.. i'd be on his lap and we'd look at the moon and the stars till my hiccup-sounding crying would gradually slow to silence. a silent smile, then goodnight.

ok i was not aware that that was the definition of corona. fucking beer. and i am truly upset that i didn't get to see the eclipse from this friggin' city and i'm pretty damn sure i won't be alive till age 146 to see the next long one. booo.
